Guy and Thierry Amiot continue to produce classic Chassagne Montrachet that expresses their varied “terroir”, enhanced by approx. 25% new oak. These are very pure wines with a subtle balance of fruit, acid and minerality. Amiot has avoided the trend of trying to make New World wines by harvesting ultra ripe fruit. These are brilliant, finely chiseled wines of true Burgundian character. The domaine offers a superb collection of Premier Cru sites that reflect the different terroirs found throughout the appellation. They also produce an excellent cuvee of old vines Chassagne-Montrachet Village.
This vintage was produced in 2016 to compensate for our (too) meagre harvests with grapes from the best plot of Santenay, Sous la Roche, Comme Dessus…
